Purpose
As the Electrical Engineering Team Lead, you will work closely with the Discipline Manager:
Electrical Engineering and his team in all aspects of engineering to ensure successful engineering
development of electrical deliverables, as well as interfacing with other disciplines.
Requirements
Responsible for managing for results through a team.
Responsible for the development of engineering design solutions to support projects and
clients as part of the services the Secunda team renders.
Lead and mentor assistant engineers/technologists/designers, providing technical guidance
and support.
Development of detail design deliverables effectively and efficiently within engineering budget,
on time and to sufficient quality.
Liaise with client to gain insight into problem statements/scope definition of design
requirements.
Attend weekly or monthly progress meetings internal and external.
Planning and prioritizing design effort to ensure effective delivery to projects.
Qualifications/Experience
National Diploma / B. Tech / B. Eng / B Sc (Eng) in Electrical Engineering.
Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa is an advantage.
>5 years’ experience.
Experience in leading an engineering team during project design and execution.
Lead the electrical team in designing and integrating electrical systems for projects.
Knowledge and mastery of petrochemical and industry design specifications, standards,
legislation and international best practices.
Ability to supervise, guide and lead the electrical engineering team and to continuously
update the philosophy on generating quality engineering deliverables as per client and
business requirements.
Construction and commissioning exposure.
Understanding of other engineering disciplines’ processes and how to integrate with other
disciplines’ interfaces.
Affinity for and experience in business management of a sub-group in a professional services
company.
Review and approve technical designs and specifications.
Driver’s License and/or means of transport.
Collaborate with field teams and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
Lead efforts to resolve safety or compliance issues related to electrical installations.
