SAIEE Gala and Awards

Proconics attended the 2024 edition of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) annual gala and awards ceremony that was held at The Venue in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg.

This event, in its 114th year, was well-attended with decision-makers, movers, and shakers in the engineering fraternity, and allowed Proconics to network with industry role players.

The awards recognised significant contributions by individuals in the electrical, electronic, telecommunications, and computer engineering sectors in South Africa.

SAIEE is a recognised professional body for electrical and electronic engineers, technologists, technicians, and artisans in Southern Africa. Founded over a century ago, it promotes the profession through education, events, and advocacy, making it a well-respected organisation internationally.

Apart from celebrating the winners who walked away with awards including the SAIEE President’s Award, the SAIEE Women in Engineering Award, and the SAIEE Engineer of the Year Award.

The discussions around the tables emphasised how the SAIEE platform advances the electrical engineering profession, guides young engineers and provides a space for talented engineers to showcase their skills and expertise through industry gatherings.

Proconics is a champion for professional development, and that includes memberships in esteemed organisations like the SAIEE, SAIMC, and SAIMechE.
